ABOUT US
Welcome to the best enclave of historic and artisanal food shops in the United States!
There's no place else like Little Italy in the Bronx. Within four blocks, you'll find seven shops that make fresh mozzarella daily, four butcher shops, five pastry shops, and the historic Arthur Avenue Retail Market.
Our mission is to introduce people to the small, truly artisanal food makers in Little Italy. We hope you'll return again and again and help keep these food traditions alive.
Danielle Oteri's great-grandparents opened their shop on Arthur Avenue in 1918 which is still open today as Vincent's Meat Market. In 1951 a film about a lonely Italian-American butcher was filmed in Oteri's Meat Market on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. The movie went on to win several Academy Awards including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Picture. It also won the Palm D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
She became an art historian and writer and worked at the Cloisters for 15 years. Christian Galliani grew up shopping on Arthur Avenue with his Italian immigrant parents. He is a sommelier who has worked at Del Posto, Tarry Lodge, and Eataly Downtown. Together, Danielle and Christian combine their passion for Italian food, wine, and culture for Feast Travel and Arthur Avenue Food Tours.
