ABOUT US

Welcome to the best enclave of historic and artisanal food shops in the United States!

There's absolutely no place else like Little Italy in the Bronx in the United States. With giant chain food stores taking over suburban and urban neighborhoods, Arthur Avenue offers a singular density of truly artisanal food shops. Within four blocks you'll find seven shops that make fresh mozzarella daily, four butcher shops, five pastry shops, and the historic Arthur Avenue Retail Market.

Our mission is to introduce people to the small, truly artisanal food makers in Little Italy.  We hope you'll return again and again and help keep these food traditions alive.

Danielle Oteri's great-grandparents opened their shop on Arthur Avenue in 1918. She became an art historian and writer and worked at the Cloisters for 15 years. Christian Galliani grew up shopping on Arthur Avenue with his Italian immigrant parents. He is a sommelier who has worked at Del Posto, Tarry Lodge, and Eataly Downtown. Together, Danielle and Christian combine their passion for Italian food, wine, and culture for Feast Travel and Arthur Avenue Food Tours.
