THE REAL LITTLE ITALY IS IN THE BRONX

SHOPPING & TASTING TOUR

We are proud to have been featured on CNN Travel, USA Today Top 10, New York Times, LA Times, NPR, Eater, and The New Yorker

Tucked away in the middle of the Bronx is an enclave of family-run food shops that carry on old-world Italian traditions. The Shopping & Tasting Tour replicates the Saturday ritual of shopping on Arthur Avenue, with lots of bites along the way, followed by a sit-down lunch at one of the oldest, most classic restaurants in NYC.

Tours fill up quickly, make your reservation ahead of time!

Tour is $95 per person and includes on the-go tastings as well as a seated lunch at Mario's. Typical tour length is 2.5 hours, though may sometimes run longer if the shops are very crowded.

Closed Sundays.

"We walked through all the stores, and it was this giant, happy sensory overload. Every business had such a sense of history, and every item had a personality."

Our family has been on Arthur Avenue since 1918

Albino and Grazia Oteri immigrated from Naples and opened their baccalà shop in 1918. In the 1950s their son John turned it into a butcher shop which was featured in the Academy Award winning film "Marty" starring Ernest Borgnine.

In 2012 Danielle Oteri and her husband Christian Galliani began hosting tours that mirrored their own Saturday shopping trips to the old neighborhood and Arthur Avenue Food Tours was born.
